We used to clean it up is the third track of a musical composition called Beats 'n Bits, A musical trilogy containing three tracks, which are entirely made of sound bites coming from several field recordings. The tracks can be played separately, or can be combined in a loop.
This track is based on a spontaneous monologue of a sheep farmer, which was a by-catch when I recorded his sheep.
It's a kind of a nonsense rap, words and sentences are mixed-up in a way nobody can understand what it's about, even if you speak the local language. The title is the translation of the repeating chorus.
The composition was initially made for the Art&Culture trail Midden Walcheren 2015, and received many positive reactions.
